The Tisch Environmental ambient viable andersen cascade impactors are designed for the collection of airborne aerosols containing bacteria or fungi. They come in six stage, two stage, or single stage variations with a pump for sampling at 28.3 LPM. These impactors use precision-machined aluminum plates with successively smaller diameter holes to collect the particulates. The larger particulates impact on the stages, while the smaller ones continue through the stages until they are entrapped on the corresponding plate. The collected viable bacterial or fungal particulates are then incubated and counted or identified for research or diagnostic purposes. The device is designed to meet U.S. Federal standards for the “Ideal Cascade Impactor” and comply with OSHA, EPA, and ACGIH requirements for respirable and non-respirable fractions.
