The TACMET II weather sensor is a rugged, lightweight sensor for field-deployable meteorological monitoring applications. The sensor is used to measure surface winds, baseline temperature, humidity and barometric pressure. This sturdy, low-power unit has no moving parts and requires no field-level maintenance. Data are transferred from the TACMET II continuously or upon demand via cable or internal encrypted RF modem. Designed for a high MTBF, the TACMET II has been the sensor of choice for critical performance users for over 25 years.
The TACMET II is used by all branches of the US military and several international armed forces as well. Applications include nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) detection systems, tactical air traffic control (ATC) and unmanned air vehicle (UAV) launching and landing systems, artillery trajectory fire control systems, and aerostat operational control safety systems.
