Apex Instruments offers both automated and manual source sampling systems for determining particulate and toxic emissions in flue gas. These systems are designed to comply with U.S. EPA Reference Methods as outlined in CFR 40 Part 60 Appendix A. In addition, Apex Instruments offers method-specific sampling kits that include all the necessary components for performing specific sampling methods, but they do not include a meter console or pump, which must be selected separately. It’s important to note that some of the method kits may require combining with other kits to create a complete sampling system.
The Method 5 System “Deluxe Plus” from Apex Instruments is a versatile and comprehensive source sampling system designed to handle a wide range of conditions and locations. It can be used in both rigid and flexible configurations, allowing for greater flexibility in the field.
With the classic rigid arrangement, the Deluxe Plus system includes additional glassware for pre-measured and filled impingers, pre-weighed filter assemblies, and minimum turnaround time between runs. This can help streamline the sampling process and improve overall efficiency.
Overall, the Method 5 System “Deluxe Plus” is a reliable and efficient solution for professional source sampling, with the flexibility to adapt to a variety of conditions and sampling requirements.
The XD-502 digital method 5 sampling console by Apex Instruments is a versatile and efficient tool for stack testers. It is a part of the Peak 32 series and is powered by the PIC32 microcontroller module, providing a range of features to make sampling more convenient and efficient.
One of the main advantages of the XD-502 is its ability to monitor various parameters such as gas velocity, temperatures, pressures, sample flow rates, and volumes, which is essential for maintaining isokinetic sampling conditions. The backlit display is sunlight-readable, making it easy to read in any lighting conditions.
The XD-502 is designed to test for a wide range of pollutants from stationary sources, including particulate matter such as PM 2.5 and PM10 fractions, metals, PCBs, dioxins/furans, PAHs, and many more pollutants. It can also be adapted for other procedures such as Methods 2, 4, 17, 23, 26A, 29, 201A, and 202, depending on the requirements of the sampling project.
Overall, the XD-502 is a powerful and versatile tool for stack testing, offering a range of features to make sampling more efficient and accurate.
The XC-572 Source Sampling Console is the metric version of the XC-523. It is a full-featured, compact, and lightweight Isokinetic Source Sampler. It has all the great features you want and the reliability you need. Field set up is easy with non-reversible external pump connections and the industry standard 4-pin electrical connector. (External sample pump is separately). Console allows operators to monitor gas velocities, temperatures, pressures, and sample flow rates for maintaining isokinetic sampling conditions. All applicable components are rated 120V / 60Hz or 240V/50Hz.
The Method 23 (Modified Method 5) source sampling kit from Apex Instruments is used for the determination of dioxins and furans (D/F’s) using EPA Method 23 or for the determination of semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) using EPA Method 0010. The sampling train is similar to the standard Method 5 system, but with the addition of a water-cooled glass condenser and an XAD absorbent module followed by a knockout impinger. The XAD module collects the semi-volatile organic compounds and is analyzed separately from the particulate matter collected on the filters. This kit includes all the necessary components for the sampling train except for the meter console and pump, which must be chosen separately.
The Method 201A heated probe is designed for sampling particulate matter from stationary sources. The probe is used in combination with Particle Measurement Cyclone Kits to create Method 201A Probes. It features a 1-inch diameter sheath made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, which houses a modular offset 3/8-inch pitot tip, type-K thermocouples for stack and probe temperature, and an orsat line. The probe also includes a probe heater and 1/4-inch stainless steel quick connects for easy installation and removal. Standard lengths for the probe range from 5 feet to 12 feet, and longer lengths and custom orders are available upon request. Probes are ordered according to nominal (liner) length, with the effective length being one foot less than the nominal length. The probe liners must be ordered separately to complete the setup.
